Japan Trip 2022

Trying out this blogging thing and sharing some images from my travel to Japan end of 2022. Every time I come back I regret not taking more photos. But that’s a sign for me to improve myself as I know I should be shooting more but I often struggle with thinking about balance, quality vs quantity. I guess I shouldn’t overthink it and just shoot when I feel like it!

My wife and I go to Japan nearly every year to visit family. We travel to Kagawa Prefecture:

There is no direct flight to Kagawa internationally so we have to transfer to a domestic flight at Haneda Airport in Tokyo (usually a 3-4 hour layover which allows us time to take a bus to the domestic terminal and eat a bit).

Collections of photos I took around town:

Don’t know why this woman looked kind of sad while she was waiting for the train, felt like a movie when the wind would blow in her direction like she said goodbye to someone.

Just a guy getting his pack of smokes from a Tobacco stand(?)

Waiting at the train station while watching the sun light up the crevices and parts of the buildings.

Crazy looking stairs, would definitely avoid after a night of drinking.

Countryside sunset with a great view, Mt Yashima in the back.

Bar/restaurant Yutoriro, small single-man run spot that only sits like 6-8 people. Really chill environment and amazing food.

Making his way home by bike, hope he didn’t forget the milk like I always do lol.

Father and son takoyaki time on a Sunday afternoon.

Reomaworld Theme Park in Kagawa Prefecture, this was an interesting experience going to a more local theme park, was a bit old and rusty which gave it a bit of an eerie feeling at times.

Skinny building stood out not only because it’s so skinny, but there weren’t really any other buildings next to it.

These mirrors are everywhere in Japan given how narrow some streets are.
